Financial and Operational Views of the Organization Tree

Two views of the organization tree are supported throughout the system. 

The "Normal" view matches the financial reporting hierarchy of the company. 

The "Operational" or "Adjacency" view matches the operational configuration of stores and provides for more efficient and effective scheduling of resources.

Organization Reassignment

Historical data for closed or merged locations preserved using complicated organization reassignment form.

Initializing sales history to support forecasting for new locations requires special sales history extract, conversion processing followed by one-time import into the QServ database.

Enhanced Paste Function

When setting up a new location using the "Copy" and "Paste" functions, in addition to adding the location and all sub-areas to the organization tree, the system also replicates the adjacency group structure and creates the merchandise cross reference.

Copy and "Paste Special" options replace Organization Reassignment. 

Paste Special optional can be used to create sales history, to support forecasting, and base schedules for the new location with simple paste operations. When pasting base schedules QServ automatically creates open positions that can be used during the hiring process.

The Organization Settings Check analyzes the current properties of nodes on the organization tree for inconsistencies. For example, if the merchandise cross reference directs sales to a node on the organization tree that has sub-areas then an exception would be identified and the QServ administrator can correct the error.

Field Level Access Permissions

Administrators can set field level permissions (hide, view or view/modify) by user group to further refine what associate information specific user groups can view/modify.

Employment Status

 

The employment status history table tracks past and future status changes. The employment status table, in conjunction with planning tools is used to synchronize associate staffing with plan hours by week. For example open positions with an employment status of Inactive can be added to the employee roster. When future staffing plans call for additional capacity the open positions can be changed to active and provide a basis for hiring new associates.
